One of my best friends. My heart. He is one of the reasons my world still turns.

H is my lover. My sweet buddy. He gives hugs so tight. And sweet kisses on my lips. He sometimes leans his head forward to accept my kisses too. The way he presses his lips together when he smiles. And the way he looks out the side of his eyes to look at you makes me melt.

He is fun. And full of imagination. He always has a wild story or some idea. He's creative. And just like me.

But he is so much like his daddy too. The way he is persistent. The way he can sweet talk his way into anything. He will get you before you even realize it. He's definitely a looker too. With those big baby blues and that sandy blonde hair.

He loves soccer and he loves to run. He's an athlete by nature. Well. Sometimes. He's clumsy like me too. Whoops. But he loves being active. He's so active he's even a restless sleeper. Just like his daddy he talks in his sleep. And moves all about the bed. A sleep walker for sure.

He is our H. All my posts start out with . . . 'our lives as of lately' comments. Mostly because I simply forget to blog. It's so hard to keep up with all versions of social media. But lately our lives have been turned up side down and right side up . . . and all we are trying to do is stay afloat. For those of you who have kids, I'm sure you know what it means. Just when you think you've accomplished something great with juggling the kids, God gives us another task to overcome. And mine is now the terrible twos.

Joanie Leigh. My fire cracker. My mini me. My Joanie.

Joanie started preschool in January, so I got accustomed to BOTH the kids being gone a little two days a week. I must add, silence was nice. Now, we are out of school and I couldn't resist but to send them to a 'sitter / nanny' two days a week. Silence is BACK! JL is quite the talker. Or should I say, CHATTER BOX. She talks, non stop. And I mean, NON STOP. And loud. Always so loud. It's like she wants the world to know she's awake and trust me, they usually do. She's beginning to put sentences together which makes for conversations with her. And the word 'no' is used twice as much as a normal toddler.

"Joanie, do you want a show?"
"no"
"Joanie, do you want your shoe?"
"no"
"Joanie, do you want a gummie?"
"no"

Even when it means yes. Which to all those questions, it's usually a 'yes'. She will get there. I'm sure. But we've also entered the 'terrible twos'. Fits. OH, what fits the girl can pitch. And she buckles. When she doesn't get her way, she swings those arms and slaps her legs. Then drops to her knees. Her newest is when you pick her up to sit her on her bottom for time out, she will bend her legs backwards. Like she is about to go sky diving . . . it's so you can't 'sit her down' in time out. Terd. She's such a terd. She knows! She knows, way too much.

But, she's just a big girl. Growing so fast. She has blossomed into a little girl, for sure. She wakes up every morning and asks to put a bow in her hair. As soon as 'bubba' (what she calls Houston) looks at her and tells her, 'Your pretty, Joanie', she then takes it out. She has found a love for shoes and always wants them on. She now doesn't mind dressing up. Which before she was like the 'Hulk' and would want to rip them off. Imagine that. It's Joanie. But a big girl we have. She has even started potty training. She talks about it, she has sat on the pot and actually tee tee'd a handful of times. YAY. Maybe we are on the 'no more diaper train'. I can dream. Right?

Oh my 21 month old little girl.

And my 4.5 year old little boy. My precious Houston. Such a sweet soul. He's getting so big. Tall. We have finally entered into 4T clothes and I think (only by his large head) that we might enter into 5T 'on time' or even earlier. H is my midget. My small little petite little fella. We were always entering sizes right on the dot. But the last two years we've been behind on entering the 'sizes'. I like to think it's because that boy is so active. I swear that's what keeps him thin. He doesn't walk anywhere. He speed walks. The child would rather run than ride a bike. Which, I have bought him a bike recently (with the training wheels) and all he wants to do is run. I tend to think he will be my cross country runner. (And we think JL will be the soccer player.)

H did play his first season of soccer this year. His FIRST team sport. And it was by far the most precious thing to see that small child out on the big field running with the others. His soccer shirt swallowed him whole and his shorts came down to his ankles, pretty much. He loved it. Daddy bought him his own soccer ball and he was on top of the world. Altho, he didn't quite 'get' the sport just yet, but he will learn. He is going to a 'mega camp' this summer. They will teach him a different sport each day. We shall see. HA. He makes me smile just thinking of that kid running around with his close mouthed smile.

H has been big into army figures and police for quite some time. And I had kind of hoped this would be one to out grow. But no. He's still addicted. Police has been around the longest. But the toy army men, that we trip over and step on . . . that's the newest. He will line them up and have 'wars' on his own. Ha. Such a nut.

We have applied H into the 4k preschool program at the Elementary school. NERVOUS. I hope he gets in. Even tho I will probably ball my eyes out watching him walk into school the first day. Seriously. I will. I will cry. I think realizing that my 'baby boy' isn't much of a baby anymore is just crazy. It's so crazy to watch them grow daily and to think 'school' is forever away . . . and when it arrives . . . you just look back and say, When did this happen? Where did the time go? and How did it go so quick?

Well, here's to new beginnings for me. And praying that I actually keep my word and 'document' my children a bit better than the past. Cheers.

// love, mommy //billingsley designs - erica b. http://www.blogger.com/profile/01748985830581497089noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4537816943377731384.post-16877361619952457752014-06-16T20:44:00.000-07:002014-06-16T20:50:55.580-07:00looking back. and making changes.Looking back, I now realize I didn't document the way I wish I would have. I kept saying that Facebook was my 'blog' . . . and that I didn't need to write things here too. But tonight, I sat down and re-read my posts that I did write . . . and I wish I would have documented more. Especially more of my kids. Time flies so fast that we forget, until it's passed. Today it really sunk in that I have a 4.5 year old and an almost 2 year old. Gosh. Where did time go?

Here's to 'picking it back up'. Hoping to get my blogging 'back on'.

// love, mommy //billingsley designs - erica b. http://www.blogger.com/profile/01748985830581497089noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4537816943377731384.post-58601565708526202242013-04-15T17:55:00.001-07:002014-06-16T20:53:34.493-07:00AprilApril has come and is now half way gone. How is that! So fast.

This month we have all been sick. So far several times. I've had a sinus infection + a bad head cold / virus along with the kids. Now H has a fever of 102.1 and on Tylenol. Blah. Always something, right? I have been doing some contract work for my old company, Pure Fishing. And loving it. I forgot what it was like to do 'real' work. Not that what in doing isn't real. But maybe not as structured. Either way, it's been nice getting back into the 'work field'. It's been exhausting tho. Working till 2 am most nights to keep up with the normal sessions / edits / design work / etc. and in too of being sick.

We were sick over Easter. So we didn't get any Easter pics. Tear. But we 'reenacted' it this past Sunday w the kids. Crazy to see 4, FOUR, kids in the Easter picture now. And next year will make six! That's right. Six. Crazy!

This past weekend my friend Kelli had her first baby shower. It was weird sitting there watching her open presents. Thinking, we are at this stage in our lives??? I mean, clearly. I have two kids. But to see it happening to others!? My goodness. And today, I got a sweet text saying that my soon to be niece (not blood related but I am still claiming her as my niece) Charlee will be here for sure next Tuesday -- that is if she doesn't come on her own before then. AHH! I'm beyond thrilled! All these babies. It feel like yesterday they all told me they were pregnant!!!

And speaking of time flying . . . Have you seen this little girl?????
Growing fast. Talking up a storm. Carrying on conversations. I mean, really!!! I'm not suppose to be talking to my own kid in the phone!!! Sigh.

Anyways, sorry so long since the last post. I said I'd be better this go round. But in not. I try! I also said I would work out better this go round and well. . . Whoops. I am starting too tho. For real! Haha. Stay tuned for results!

Till then, I've decided to wear lipstick. Haha. We will see. Still iffy on it.
Our JL is now 5 months. How has this happened? I feel it was just the other day we welcomed her. And now she's growing so fast. She is finally sitting up. She still tumbles over and is a little weak. But for the most part, she's a sitter.

We've graduated from stage one food to stage two. And our two bottom teeth have really started to shine.

This week we've introduced juice. Since she isn't a bottle baby, I was nervous she wouldn't even care for juice at all. BUT, she is taking it like a champ. So far, she taken an ounce a day! Whew. Dwindling down on the breast feedings.

JL has still only rolled over a handful of times. (Maybe 20) she can go from tummy to back. But not vice versa.

Tummy time gets the best if JL. She gets so frustrated. Haha. I think because its hard work for those chunky legs.

She's still in 6 month clothes. But I do think she will start pushing 9 mo clothes soon. ESP in the neck area. Ha.

My goodness. I love her too. It's so weird how you can love something so much. I never thought I could share my love (split from H) but I couldn't see my life w.o her.

Here's some photos of her lately.

// love, mommy //

- Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone
billingsley designs - erica b. http://www.blogger.com/profile/01748985830581497089noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4537816943377731384.post-76905488801811186732013-02-22T02:50:00.001-08:002013-02-22T02:50:08.763-08:00Catching upI fell off the blogging train for a little. But I have so much to share! I just couldn't stay away much longer!

JL is 5 months old. Ah. And we now have a sitter. She still wobbles and it doesn't last too long. But it's still a sit. The longest she's done lasted a couple minutes! Whoa-hoo.

We've been at Edisto with my parents since Wednesday. And it's been fun, but exhausting as always when traveling w two small ones who want their own beds. H has done much much better. Sleeps all night. Whew. But JL was up every other hour. Blah. But I will say, we've begun to eat 3 containers of no.2 foods. Ha. PIG. I know.

We've gone to the beach. To the playground. To play putt putt. To shops. And to dinners. All mostly to wear my lil boy out. And he is.

He fell asleep watching the Daytona qualifying races with pops. Oh goodness. I have to tell this before I forget.

Houston didn't want to sleep in his bed tonight because 'its scary. There Monstors.'

I, of course, talk about how there are no monsters. And how daddy will keep us safe. And that they aren't real. And reassure him is bed is comfy and safe and monster free.

But all H said was: 'YES mommy. There are Monstors. They outside. And daddy punch him. And I say, 'No Daddy. Not do that.' These are the words I've been hearing almost every day.

'Ina hold her on my bed.'
'Ina hold her right here.'
'Ina hold her, mommy.'

Once a day, I've been letting H hold 'Toni'. He's done an awesome job at it. I think it makes him feel like a 'big boy' and 'strong'. He just loves her. And tonight, a friend (Poole and Jeremy) asked if they could be H's best friend and he said, 'No. Toni is my bes frien.' Awe. It melted me heart . . . mostly because I am normally his 'bes frien' and now I've been pushed aside! Haha. But pushed aside only to the best, 'Toni'.

Here are a few images of their 'holding time'.

He just sits there with her. I can't believe it. And guess what she got today? A tooth!!! She's a little past 4 months and she got a tooth!! I just knew it!!

We went to the pediatrician last Wednesday for the kids 'well' visits, and we asked her if JL was teething. She said no . . . That its too early fir a tooth! But we were proven wrong!!

Oh how she is growing too fast!! At the doctor, we learned that she is beginning to 'slim' down. She is now in the 50th percentile vs the 75th percentile at her 2 month visit. Laugh. She's overall doing everything she should be!

She's rolled over 7 times now. I FINALLY witnessed it this morning on the baby monitor. She's eaten carrots and bananas! And LOVES it. Still isn't sure about rice cereal tho. But I can assure you she isn't hurting for food! She still hates the bottle! And I've tried putting milk and rice cereal in a sippy cup . . . She drank about 1/2 an ounce. Haha.

Check out 'boogie'.

OH. One at our home, one at JoJo's and one at school.

Ours at home was an Octonauts party. Don't ask. It's a cartoon he loves! And no toys are here in the US yet. Weird. I know. But it was Houston's only request. So, my attempt to an Octonauts party is displayed below.

Mom made him a Captain Barnicals (one of the characters) hat. We had 'crab' sandwiches. And Captain Barnicals marshmallows. I had a cake made too! Which turned out so awesome!!

Then Jojo had a small party. Just our normal Sunday dinner with chocolate cake! Yum!!!

And last, his birthday celebration at school! He was so cute! And all excited about it! All the kids (10) sit at the table for snack. They say the blessing / sing happy birthday / blow out the candle / open a gift / eat a cookie.

Overall, I think he had a good birthday. He had a terrible cold the week of his birthday. But despite the nasty cold, he was excited each day.

Enjoy the pics!

- Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone
billingsley designs - erica b. http://www.blogger.com/profile/01748985830581497089noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4537816943377731384.post-61509565684646658872013-01-25T18:18:00.001-08:002014-06-16T20:51:53.208-07:00To the mountains we will go.
This past weekend we made our first adventure as a family if 4. We left the house for a 2.5 hr drive that took us nearly 3.5 hrs. Sigh. I guess it could have been worse.

H peed in his carseat 30 min down the road. So we had to stop and buy a towel to sit on and new pants. (Easier than digging in the back to find his bag and I wasn't sure I brought enough pants incase we planned to stay longer than one night. Which we did.) Then he fell asleep on our way down. Which meant he wouldn't go to he'd at a decent hr. GREAT start.

We went to Mt Pleasant to visit some friends. Their little boy was turning a year old! His party was quite the success and soooo cute! It was great catching up with friends and seeing many we haven't seen in years. However, it was exhausting!!

There were three couples at the house. The other two couples would put their kids to bed at 7:30 / 8:30 while mine would stay up till midnight. Haha. Would be me. Oh well. They would sleep till 7:30. Which was pretty good for me since my kids normally don't travel well. But mine didn't do too bad.

H sleeping on 'his bed' a lil couch we pushed up against the wall backwards so he wouldn't fall out. Haha.

There was a 3 year old (Houston), a 1 year old (Miller), an 11 month old (Collins) and a 3.5 month old (Joanie). I didn't get near the pictures I wanted. But I spent a lot of time rounding up my kids and being exhausted.

Here is Collins peeking at JL.

When we returned home, it was catch up time on sleep . . . For the past two weeks or so, JL has been getting up for a 4 or 6 am feeding. Exhausting. Not sure why. But I had gotten used to those 9 to 11 hr stretches at night. So, having interrupted sleep again was hard.

I got to thinking. SHE'S GOING TO BE 4 MONTHS OLD! Which means, not only is baby girl growing up . . . She can now have rice cereal!!

Clearly she's a little shy of 4 months. But lets face it, 'Girls gotta eat!'

We introduced rice cereal last week. JL hated it at first. Cried her eyes out. For an hour after we fed it to her. Now . . . She can't get her mind off it. We have it for mid morning snack and right before bath / bed. Twice a day. And the past couple nights, she's slept 11 hrs!! A-mazing!

However, lil booga boos denied me yesterday (she still won't take a bottle) and I think it was because she wanted more rice cereal. Haha. She must really like the way it makes her full!

- Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone
billingsley designs - erica b. http://www.blogger.com/profile/01748985830581497089noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4537816943377731384.post-35969603456717011322013-01-01T06:52:00.001-08:002013-01-01T06:52:44.203-08:002013Happy new year!

- Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone
billingsley designs - erica b. http://www.blogger.com/profile/01748985830581497089noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4537816943377731384.post-52495023591097554382012-12-31T00:21:00.001-08:002012-12-31T00:21:55.343-08:00RollsToday I had a wedding in Charleston with Tomme Hilton of Tomme Hilton Gallery. I left at noon and arrived just shy of midnight. Sigh. Long day! When I arrived home tonight, my babies were already put to bed. Thanks hubs!

However, I had a 2:30 calling from Joanie.

She had rolled over and couldn't turn back to her tummy. Double sigh.

I leave for 12 hours and I come back to my booger boos already grown! I can't believe it's time. It's time for us to have a roller!

OH!!! And speaking of rolls. Our lil' Rollie Pollie had rice cereal night before last. And her face:

She hates it. It hurts like shiz-nit. Ugh. I called the doctor yesterday because over the weekend I thought I had developed a tooth ache or something else. So, I wanted to get it checked. AND because I was out of my pain meds!!! I've had to double up the pills just to I can get by since early Saturday morning.

It turns out I had an infection where they attached the tissue on the left side + a blood clot on the roof of my mouth where they removed the tissue. Ouch.

It was painful! The periodontist had to numb the roof of my mouth (one shot) to push the blood clot out. As well as numb my left side (three shots) to remove some of the infection. However, apparently once there's an infection, you can't totally numb the area to remove all feeling. SO, I felt him scratching away the infection and removing some stitches. Yep. I cried. I balked like a baby! Haha.

It's official I'm one of those who says, "I'd rather give birth to a child than do this again." And I'm glad I went ahead and did both my left and right side at the same time. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have ever done this surgery again! Although, he did say mine was a rare infection that can happen . . . But doesn't happen too often.

Yep. It would be me. So. Today in on the road to recovery. I do feel less 'heartbeat' on my left side. But it still aches.

// On the bright side // Christmas is around the corner and I have completed my shopping!

'Tis the season y'all!

- Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone
billingsley designs - erica b. http://www.blogger.com/profile/01748985830581497089noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4537816943377731384.post-35660289143610863892012-12-17T20:19:00.001-08:002012-12-17T20:19:06.486-08:00Keaton Lee LindlerI'm excited to announce I will be the aunt to a sweet lil . . .

. . . I mean, duh! Look where the cutie came from! Laugh. I'm kidding!

But seriously, tell me he doesn't rock these awesome moose jammies?

I've been wanting to get home some of these footed ones because his little feet get so cold at night. He moves so much when he sleeps, so he doesn't keep a blanket on him. And sometimes he will wear socks to bed and sometimes he won't. SO, I built up this big deal about these moose jammies with feet and he LOVES them! Yay! Who knew. I thought it'd be a bust. But nope. He was sporting them all around the house!

Thank goodness!! Because I got him more for his birthday! Ha.

- Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone
billingsley designs - erica b. http://www.blogger.com/profile/01748985830581497089noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4537816943377731384.post-62697131829869972282012-12-17T03:51:00.001-08:002012-12-17T04:06:46.505-08:00I'm an Aunt x3Not sure if most of you know, but I am becoming an Aunt again in June!!!
