April

April has come and is now half way gone. How is that! So fast.

This month we have all been sick. So far several times. I've had a sinus infection + a bad head cold / virus along with the kids. Now H has a fever of 102.1 and on Tylenol. Blah. Always something, right? I have been doing some contract work for my old company, Pure Fishing. And loving it. I forgot what it was like to do 'real' work. Not that what in doing isn't real. But maybe not as structured. Either way, it's been nice getting back into the 'work field'. It's been exhausting tho. Working till 2 am most nights to keep up with the normal sessions / edits / design work / etc. and in too of being sick.

We were sick over Easter. So we didn't get any Easter pics. Tear. But we 'reenacted' it this past Sunday w the kids. Crazy to see 4, FOUR, kids in the Easter picture now. And next year will make six! That's right. Six. Crazy!

This past weekend my friend Kelli had her first baby shower. It was weird sitting there watching her open presents. Thinking, we are at this stage in our lives??? I mean, clearly. I have two kids. But to see it happening to others!? My goodness. And today, I got a sweet text saying that my soon to be niece (not blood related but I am still claiming her as my niece) Charlee will be here for sure next Tuesday -- that is if she doesn't come on her own before then. AHH! I'm beyond thrilled! All these babies. It feel like yesterday they all told me they were pregnant!!!

And speaking of time flying . . . Have you seen this little girl?????










Gosh. She's beginning to really shine. Her personality is so cute! I can't get enough. She'll be 7 months this week. Gasp.

And this little fella. He's my world.










Growing fast. Talking up a storm. Carrying on conversations. I mean, really!!! I'm not suppose to be talking to my own kid in the phone!!! Sigh.

Anyways, sorry so long since the last post. I said I'd be better this go round. But in not. I try! I also said I would work out better this go round and well. . . Whoops. I am starting too tho. For real! Haha. Stay tuned for results!

Till then, I've decided to wear lipstick. Haha. We will see. Still iffy on it.

our life.

our life lately has been quite hectic. Between me working / staying home with two kids / daddy working / daddy's soccer . . . it makes time FLY. We are always busy. And haven't had but ONE or TWO free weekends since Joanie has been born. Sigh. But, we love it.

Houston is enjoying school . . . and talking up a storm. He's doing well with his 'sentence completion' -- laugh -- making full sentences. It's so cute! He loves holding Joanie and helping us with her. He's still quite obsessed with cars. And LOVES Chocolate milk. I have to keep holding my tears back when I think he will be THREE in a month. Yes. THREE. I better get on that 'party planning'.

Joanie is growing so much. She is about 13lbs. Yes. 13! She's such a chunk! She will be 3 months soon . . . and I think we may need to up her clothes size to 6 months! Laugh. My lil' tubs. I am still calling her Joanie vs. Joanie leigh . . . but I've been working on it. I really want Joanie Leigh to stick . . . but it's so hard! Ha. She still LOVES her milk. She eats ALL the time!! Joanie loves to smile at you now . . . and coo! She's quite the talker.

I have been doing GREAT on 'my blogging' skills here lately. . . . keeping everyone updated on our lives and how we spent our Holiday Season. I still have our New Year photos to post . . . which will come soon. I also have photos from Houston's Birthday Celebration we had on Sunday! YAY! Till the catch up photos, I wanted to talk about my 'H-man'.

Houston will be TWO tomorrow. Tear. Lots of tears for me. I cannot believe that it has been TWO YEARS already. At times, he still looks like a little baby to me . . . but most of the time, I see a toddler.

Houston now says:
'MA' -- Loud and yankee sounding . . . he's my lil' yankee child.
'Da or Daddy' -- soft and sweet.
'Pweeeease'
'Tanks' -- Thanks.
'Uv ou.' -- Not sure on that spelling . . . But he says, I love you.
'I wan dat' -- I want that.
'MMMMAAAAA!! Juice' -- He usually YELLS the Ma part and says Juice softly. Silly boy.
'I see.'
'Truck.'
'I wan dum.' -- I want Gum.
'uh huh' -- Yes.
'Dutch.' -- Don't.
'Talor' -- Trailer.
'PopPop' -- Tractor.
'Chuch' -- Chocolate.
ChooChoo' -- Train.

We are still working on 'sentences' -- but he's getting there. He can count to three if you direct him. But he wont say 'two'. Its, 'One, Free, Free.' And it's the same way when you ask him how hold he is . . . 'Free'. Sigh. He's getting there.

He can name every 'basic' animal and say the sound. 

He LOVES my uncle Fred. And says his name too! Too precious for words. He will cry for Fred as soon as he walks out the door.

He can pretty much say every one's name in the family (except Grant and Brandy and Dave -- sorry yall, he will get it).  Most recently, he LOVES to call WES.

Finding airplanes in the sky is a hobby for H. He will walk outside and look straight up.

He still likes to grab my comb in the bathroom and hold it like a microphone and sing.

He takes two baths a day . . . boy LOVES water.

Noodles are his FAVORITE. Along w. Oranges (which is weird cause I ate oranges all the time when I was preggo w. him).

Houston double steps it when he walks. He doesn't have a 'slow kids' walk . . . it's a fast pace / run. He is always double stepping it. LOVE watching him walk. Sometimes when he does run, he sticks his hands out behind him like Earl used to do. Sigh. Melts my heart every time.

OH, and we can't forget the Chocolate Milk. Boy will drink a gallon of milk in three days or less. He LOVES it. But, you have to put the 'chuch' in it.

And everything is the color blue. Laugh. My monkey!!

Birthday Message

We used to send out special birthday blogs to those in our family who are having a birthday . . . and when we fell off the blogging wagon, we obviously didn't continue with our blog celebrations.

So, we now continue our blog birthday celebrations!

Happy Birthday to my uncle Stan. We hope that you have a wonderful day! And if we were there to blow out candles on your bonfire of a birthday cake, Houston would have blown them all out before we could make it to 'Happy Birthday'.

This Saturday, we had our munchkin's birth.day.party. AND I must say... it was a success!

WHEW.

I had been planning it for a couple weeks. And started the decorations / party favors a week in advance.  I had talked my self into doing most everything solo... with the help of Jess of course [she also blogged about H.'s birthday party]. She came over twice to help me decorate / prepare for H.'s party -- we even made a midnight trip to good ole' Wally World -- who knew we still had it in us. While everyone else in the family [mom, brandy, jojo, donna] helped make the food. We were all assigned something yummy to make for the 30+ guests that were to show -- yep, you heard me -- 30+ guests... in our [new] home. sigh. It was a tight sqeeze, but we fit. [i want to add that it was ALL family. minus 3 friends + 1 baby]


Over all, it was GREAT. And Houston enjoyed it -- I think. 

[After all, our family doesn't have just ONE birthday party... we have several. Mom decided to have her 'own' party for Houston today for lunch w. josie + wes. Then, Matt and I celebrated w. our monster for dinner. Over all, he had THREE birth.day.parties]

Well, its been a while since I have posted a Birthday post! Especially since our family has a Birthday EVERY WEEK!! (it sure feels like it!)

We have had Aunt Barbara's Birthday (Matt's Aunt, aka Donna's Sister), Uncle Jimmy's Birthday (Matt's Uncle, aka the Beamguards), Aunt Linda's Birthday (my uncle's fiancee), my Granddaddy's birthday (TURNED 91!!) and Duke's Birthday (Matt's dad, aka Bob)
