my houston.

I have one crazy child! He is so outgoing . . . WILD! For one thing, he LOVES to play dress up . . . sounds weird for a lil' boy, BUT he thinks it's so funny to walk around in my clothes / accessories. I mean, I get it . . . he sees me doing it EVERYDAY . . . so to him it's normal. And have no fear, we only let him do it and laugh . . . it's not like we let him go out of the house this way!!

This was the day I was dressing up for my Maternity Photos . . . so, he dressed up too!!

Not only is he playing dress up . . . he is beginning to 'mock' you. AH. Scary! Especially since Jess lives with us! And if you know my sister, she 'corrupts' our kids! j. She has taught Josie and Wes many things that we all 'shake our heads at' but then we can't help but laugh! So now, when Houston goes up to 'GiGi's House', he usually comes back down with some sort of new trick! The newest is 'making faces' and giving you 'FINGERS' and giving it to you 'crooked'. And for those of you who don't know what 'crooked' is . . . Houston tries really hard to give you the 'peace' sign with his two fingers, but he can't . . . he can only 'criss cross' them (like you do when you are wishing for something) . . . and Jess has now taught him to 'give it to people crooked' . . . OH GAH!

silly days up in GiGi's House

AND, he has become quite the lover. He absolutely LOVES our animals. ALL of them. All three cats. Even Jess' classroom pets, turtle and fish. Which turtle was recently given away, thankfully he hasn't noticed. He loves Belle and Pollie (Matt's dog and Donna's dog, they stay at Bob and Donna's). OH, and can't forget Pepper, Jojo's cat (well, it's really Earl's cat).

Here is H with Millie . . . he loves rubbing her belly.

giving Millie love.

And he loves them SO much that he has conversations with them . . . don't ask! Jess got Joanie Leigh a cute lil' hat for her shower next weekend (she can't keep secrets) and she was showing Matt and I her new hat . . . in the midst of her showing us, Houston decided he wanted to show Sloan. And tell Sloan that it's too small for him, and that it only fits Joanie's head. Laugh. HE IS SUCH A MESS!!  And isn't her hat cute!!!

Hush.

How can you EVER get mad at this face? Esp. when he tells you to 'Hush' when you yell at him for peeing on your bed?

He's such a terd. And he has my heart.

growing up

Knowing that Houston will be 2 -- TWO -- in 2 weeks, makes me think about the last two years . . . and how much he has grown. I was looking thru my past posts and looking thru past photos of my munchkin . . . and came across this post. Mama's Boy. This photo made me laugh so hard. Gah, I can't believe he used to give us that face! Now, he just looks at us and says, 'Dutch' -- translation: Don't -- his speech / verbal skills are improving, but sometimes I would much rather him give me a look like that 'Eat Shish and Die' look than verbally telling me to 'stop / dont'. Sigh. I have waited for so long to hear him say 'something' and now it's nothing but . . . 'Truck / Boat / What's that? / Stop it / Dutch / Ma / I want that / Juice'.

Sigh. My lil' baby.

Then, I came across this naked tush. Gasp. I used to pinch it all the time! Laugh. Now, my lil' tush just runs from me when I wanna pinch! And more than likely, H follows up with a 'Stop it' . . . then screams and runs from me. Laugh. Such a monkey.

And then, I think about his Debut . . . and all the emotions that we felt when we were awaiting his arrival and the emotions when we actually saw him for the first time. That pale blue little body that wasn't breathing . . . the tears . . . then the first cry. How that cry will forever stay in my head. It's so strange . . . it isn't until you have a little one that you fully understand the meaning of why your parents 'love' you so much. -- at least for me -- I always knew my parents 'loved me' and would do 'anything for me' -- but now, I fully understand it.

My parents had their 32nd Anniversary on New Years. Yep, they got married on New Years. And I am so proud of them for staying together for 32 years . . . and raising us three girls. God blessed them with the courage and the strength to raise us / to have a wonderful marriage / to get the joy of spending time w. their grand kids / etc.  And now, God had blessed us (Matt and I) with so many wonderful moments w. our lil' H. and so far, a marriage that will hopefully last as long as our parents.

One thing is for sure, it's hard work . . . and kids def. test the waters of your strength. But, kids bring so much joy. Wow. All of this sappy stuff over thinking about my munchkin turning TWO! Whew. I can only image the thoughts I will have when H gets older!! Or when we have another 'munchkin' to chase around!

Gah, I think I need to stop before I get too sappy here . . .

Anyways . . . the point of this post was to say . . . I CAN'T BELIEVE HOUSTON WILL BE TWO!

to shave or not to shave.

I think he is too young to start shaving. But he sure likes to play with the foam.

Mama's Boy

Well, since I don't get many photos of Houston and I together... I am just going to post a photo of a look that I would give...

If he could speak, he would say, "Please get that damn camera out of my face."

Yes, these are the looks that I get from my baby. Sigh. That's my boy! Taking over one of Mama's best traits... the 'Eat S*** and Die Look.'

Now, it's not that we mean it, its just our expression.
